Kalimba is a version of the African mbira, also known as Thumb Piano. It can be used as a solo instrument or to accompany singers, musicians, and dancers. It consists of a wooden board with attached staggered metal tines, played by holding the instrument in the hands and plucking the tines with the thumbs. Suitable for travel, religious ceremonies, weddings, and other social gatherings.
