An outstanding woodworking tool with a very shallow edge, handmade by professional blade makers in Michihamono, a known carving tool manufacturer based in Japan. Forged from high-speed steel that is very hard and keeps its sharpness for a long time even with repeated use before re-sharpening. It is accompanied by a large, cherry blossom wood handle that fits comfortably in your hand and easy to apply power and control. The ferrule is secured at the end of the handle to keep it from splitting and at the same time holding the shank in place.This shallow U gouge can carve your wood without producing an uneven surface because of its slightly rounded cutting edge. It removes large chunks of excess wood with its 18mm wide blade. Tsuki Nomi has a shallow angle bevel for sharper cutting than socket chisels, but with a higher angle bevel, making it more durable than small wood carving tools.
