Large, tuberous forms of thickening are formed on the roots of the plant. All parts of the plant are covered with sticky pubescence. By the beginning of the rainy season, overhead shoots grow up to 1 m long, spreading over the ground. Devil's Claw blooms with single bright red, purple flowers that form in the axils of the leaves.
