The operator should wash hands and wear disposable gloves if possible. 2. Use fingers to gently rub earlobes for 45 seconds to numb the area, then clean earlobes with an antiseptic cloth. 3. Open the package and place the device on the earlobe as shown in diagram 3, with thumb on the end of the bolt. 4. Gently push the bolt with the thumb to close the U-shaped device, adjusting to properly position the piercing point. 5. Apply increasing pressure on the bolt until the wings break and the ear stud is quickly pushed through the earlobe and secured into the backing. 6. Release the thumb to open the device, then gently remove it from the earlobe. Holding the head of the ear stud with fingers may help. The ear stud will remain in place. Important aftercare instructions: Do not use antiseptic creams on the piercing site. Avoid contact between the earlobe and hands, collars, water, or makeup within the first 48 hours. You may gently rotate the ear stud after 48 hours. Clean the earlobe daily with an antiseptic cloth. Keep the original ear backing in place for at least 6 weeks. You may change to other earrings after 6 weeks; avoid heavy earrings. Note: Some individuals may experience infection or inflammation after ear piercing due to personal sensitivity or improper aftercare. This may result from the body rejecting foreign objects or exposure to bacteria during non-sterile handling. Avoid contact with water for at least 7 days after piercing. Getting the area wet during washing or bathing may increase the risk of inflammation. Individuals prone to infection may consider wearing pure silver or pure gold earrings.
