Hood Release Handle Repair Kit, Fits -V This fits all models from 1996 to 2011, for -V from 1997 to 2006, for Element from 2003 to 2011, and for from 2006 to 2014. This replacement hood release latch is a repair for the plastic latch with part number [part number missing in original text], which often breaks and snaps off the cable. This can be installed in 5 to 10 minutes. This sale is NOT for the entire cable, but only for the replacement latch handle that fits the cable. Machined from a solid block of aluminum. A normal cable replacement would take between 1.5 and 2 hours. This replacement latch can be installed in minutes. To do this, the plastic corner footplate must be removed. Then, approximately 1 inch of the remaining plastic must be cut off the cable with side cutters. (See photo.) Slide it over the cable, tighten the two set screws, replace the plastic corner footplate, and you're done. Color: black; Material: aluminum. Package contents: 4 x hood release handles, 4 x Allen keys, 4 x set screws. Only the above package contents are included; other products are not included. Note: Light reflections and different displays may cause the color of the item in the picture to be slightly different from the actual product. The allowable measurement error is +/- 1-3 cm.
